LOCTITE® 222 is a low-strength liquid threadlocker designed to lock and seal threaded fasteners with diameters up to 6.35 mm (1/4"). It helps prevent loosening caused by shock and vibration while allowing easy disassembly with conventional hand tools. Suitable for a range of metal substrates, including passive metals such as stainless steel and aluminium, it can also tolerate minor surface contamination from anti-corrosion oils.

Features:
LOCTITE® 222 is particularly suitable for small-diameter fasteners made from low-strength metals such as aluminium or brass. It provides a reliable solution for applications where fasteners need to be removed without damage, including adjustment screws, countersunk head screws and set screws. Its thixotropic formulation helps prevent the liquid product from migrating after application, ensuring precise and controlled application to threaded components. No pre-mixing is required. LOCTITE® 222 cures anaerobically when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces. Its purple colour and fluorescence facilitate product identification and inspection. Moreover, LOCTITE® 222 is fully compatible with passive substrates, such as stainless steel or plated surfaces, and can cure through a thin layer of contaminants, making it a practical and effective solution for many applications.
